trawled the 'net for answers which has only added to confusion over best way to fit standard Oury grips securely.... bar end plugs in first? glue? hairspray (hasn't worked so far)? wire? poke tiny hole in end to stop the air pushing them outwards?

So thought I'd ask here at the font of wisdom... what's the best way folks :?:

I always pop plugs in first (unless you're fitting bar ends then the end of the bar will act as a cookie cutter), pop an amount of UST tyre latex in the grip as lube and then slide on, even using a mallet to push 'em. The latex will stick eventually and the grips will be firm, but it does take a day or so.

I used hairspray then heated them with a hairdryer. Pop them on quickly. Theres an american coin (25c?) that fits perfectly down the bore allegedly and stops the cookie cutter bit  learnt post event obviously

5c----a nickel.

I always just use a little bit of spit to get 'em on, let them dry, and I've been fine. Maybe I don't torque/twist at my grips as much once they are on though? Movement's never bothered me. Maybe I have hairspray spit.

thanks guys - v helpful!!!

yeah, heard about the coin thing and obv worked for (some) of you!! a coin slightly smaller than a GB penny?
