Hi all,

1st post so apologies if you've heard it all before.

Anyway during the 90's I had a MTB, but the information is all a bit sketchy. I am trying to see if i can get hold of one of these again (as the one I had - my pride and joy) was nicked in Liverpool at Uni.

- The bike was either a Carrera or a GT.
- It may have said the following on the frame: Titan and Competition Pro.
- It was silver
- It had a combination of shimano XT & XTR groupset - generally v. good in its day.
- No suspension
- It was ace

Does anyone know what I had? I have googled the carrera titan but only 2006+ models come up and they look a bit rubbish. Also does anyone have any pictures of this type of bike? I would love to get another one (i'm only a beginner MTB rider and dont really want to buy a new one)

Your help is very much appreciated to find the make of bike I once loved.

My email address is [email protected]

Thanks in anticipation

Hi Paul

If you could guess the amount you paid and the year you bought it I think we could get pretty close. If you knew the bike shop you got it from that would narrow things right down.

Carrera is / was a Halfords own brand. Don't think they ever had XT certainly not XTR.

You would remember if you had a GT!

Carrera only did one bike with XT then and it was the Quattro, I can't remember ever seeing one with XTR though.

Carl.

unfortunately i bought it from an ex's dad - it was approximately 1994 and it was quite new.

I'm sure most of it was XT and a small bit XTR. Somebody said they only did 1 xt bike and was just wondering whether there are any pics available?

Many thanks guys

i;ve had a look at the quattro comp gt and it looks v. similar, although not quite the same!

Right, does anyone know how i can get my hands on one?

No it didnt have that angled cross frame bit. It was regular. It was definitely a quattro comp gt - i remember now.

do you know what they retail for? I suppose the bay will be the best bet - have just looked none available.
