Went for my first ride in ages today only an hour out but 1st time for about 12 months with my ankle being really bad and more importantly 1st time since i got my support brace and told i got early arthritis in it hurts like a bitch right now but enjoyed it none the less swollen ankle as a result and probably a nights restless sleep aswell now but i was bored with nothing to do today and thought what the hell. better than being stuck in while the suns out

What sorta brace is it??

Going to need one for mine soon but don't have any reference points :?

Must say, when I went out for a spin with mm, it was well worth the resulting hideous pain and discomfort..

Its called a Ritchie Brace i gotta have it on all the time as i go over on anything as simple as a carpet strip that makes walking surface uneven major pain but better than nearly snapping your leg all the time

i wore one for nearly a year after my ankle was rebuilt...made my ankle itch like mad ...i hated the thing...i moved onto compression socks afterwards which stopped the swelling....im not sure the pain is worth it though.i wasnt allowed near a bike for 2 years and did what the doc said as i tend to like standing more than i do cycling...my sympathies ... :x

Hasnt told me not to excercise on it quite the opposite because of the early arthritis in it just gotta avoid any impact style excercises like running and so on not that i ever did that anyhow.

Sympathies man, I was unable to walk for over a year a while ago, although I was able to cycle.

Swimming and kayaking are my suggestions for fitness, they saved me from losing my fitness when I had my knee problems.
