Finding local bridleways/tracks online

Another vote for Multimaps 1:25000 scale mapping from me- it's superb and easy to use. The 3D flythrough is brilliant.

On the other hand, you can't beat joining your local MTB group for local knowledge. I ride every Thursday night with a local group- mixed abilities, fitness and skills, loads of local knowledge and good craic. They think my love of old bikes and singlespeed is a little odd but they are coming round- one member is now enjoying riding his old DeKerf and another has bought P20's old SS Bonty OR. One added bonus is that a few weeks back the ladies in the group outnumbered the guys- quite tasty too
Most towns/areas have local groups- give it a go. Don't forget to spread the Retro Gospel if you do!

Thanks, fellas. Using your suggestions, I've already found a couple of routes near to me that I didn't know existed...

Those links that combined an aerial photo view with a map were particularly useful -- the map tells you where you can go, and the photos show you what you'll be riding thru when you get there. Fantastic! :)
