note for readers unfamiliar with the Arregui 2000 arrestor set -

front and rear calipers are the same reach

Sutherland's Handbook reach values are:

centre of slot 49mm

upper limit 45mm

lower limit 53mm

the Arregui tubular carrier is of course a replica of the Vittoria Fulmine (lightning/thunderbolt)

one small item you might wish to fit are the Arregui lever covers, Ref. 18; these are a good fit on both the shift levers and quick release levers -

the waffle pattern shown above is "late" type and came into use in 1972

the "early" type, employed through 1971 is of this pattern -

something on the order of six or eight colours were produced
one classy one is translucent amber

lovely saddle & pillar you have mounted on there for the mockup!

if you wished to get cute you could fit a Tron et Berthet I-serie saddle and mount it with the special Zeus clamp parts -

as shown on the above catalogue page there is also the Zeus allen key seat binder bolt Ref. 55

---

brake reach note -

have seen cases where enthusiasts have fabricated their own adaptor/drop bolts to solve such problems

one way you might wish to think about would be to adapt an off-the-shelf drop bolt intended for sidepull brakes

the standard drop on these is about 6mm which would be perfect for your needs - would put you right in the centre of the adjustment slot for the pad placement

So a bit of an update on this and some future plans. I have now finished the build of this one as I wanted to ride it  ...but... it may not be it's final incarnation.

I fitted the rear derailleur and some Dia Compe brakes which have a longer reach. Bar wrap and laced it all up - I found some gold coloured cables which I though worked well with the green

But also have sourced some 27 1&1/4 rims to build up with Zeus Hubs, which will ultimately enable me to use the Zeus Centre pull brakes.

Wheel building is a winter activity - so might (hopefully) be a few months yet!.

I also found out that the Zeus cranks are French thread - I only have one set of French thread pedals so had to borrow them from another bike.

A quick ride to the shop showed up a few things to adjust and then I took it out later in the afternoon for a longer ride.

I think I need to take another link out of the chain, but otherwise - all good.

It is quick enough... but not pacy obviously, a comfortable smooth ride
