AKA seized in nicely.
however, if you are saying it looks fresh then, you will be fine i reckon. zolatone and some other fishes, such as nickel plating invites rust frackles more than others, so, worth stripping out and re-lube as a precaution, that's all.
anything made of metal is worth inspecting the less seen stuff too, ask any vauxhall cavalier owner.
I have this exact problem. I have a 91 Team & Bear Valley both with seized bottom bracket cups. Got any advice / tips to get them out? Could sheer brute force damage the threads?
this is just my point. the cups are ideal for setting up from new and if they have been tended to over the years. however........
9/10 just didn't get the tlc they need and lock in. the silly pin spanners with 4mm pins just fall apart if you try undo a stubborn cup. if the 6 pin side are seized i have a mate with a impact chisel to shift it. the flat side is easier and i have removed dozens with no ill effect to threads.
removal of non-drive example here. page 3.

remove that side first and attack drive side cup with penatrant of somekind
with enough exposed thread you may get some mole-grips round it to shift it.
