Just had a thought on your former hub shells, did you get them polished prior to anodising? And then ask the anodiser for 'bright black'. That's how mine was done.Mind me asking who you used? I tried the same and it didn’t come out great lol
Then managed to get a near mint set
To be honest. No. I sent it in without fully knowing the outcome of the process so that was the end result. Can see the metal through the anodising.Just had a thought on your former hub shells, did you get them polished prior to anodising? And then ask the anodiser for 'bright black'. Hi BaronIts sounds like they either didnt anodise it long enough or didnt clean it properly does it look blotchy or can you see through the black all over which could be crap dyes which non b of the above should happen sometimes the anodising process doesnt take due to the make up of the aluminium but that cant be it as leedevelopments has took
If you zoom in enough you’ll see the surface condition.I dont think its the make up of the alu as lee developments have come out good and i would assume that there made the same i cant see on the pic what the problem is i dont understand why the insides red though what is in the inside is it not aluminium
Yes i just thought everything would have been removed as its very easy to destroy the part and what ever they used might of affected end product it could be that they didnt clean properly de smuting etc after they stripped so tje color doesnt stick as goodIf you zoom in enough you’ll see the surface condition.
The reason they are red inside is due to the process of anodising. There is a ratchet inside that dissolves due and therefore bunged to make sure this doesn’t happen as I can’t get any replacements nor have I been able to remove said ratchet’.
Thanks
I know who you mean and they’re the ones that did it for me lolI wouldnt send it to who ever did it this time i be doing it myself after xmas once i have got the hang of it i really looked into it and just seems easier to do it youself theres only 2 companies i seen that care about doing small batch high quality diffrent colors looking at there work acorn and i know people had issues with his customer service but his work is top quality(if he answers haha) and cant think on 2nd and someone had a syncros crank done in black and that looked very good ( on here) hope this helps
