Filler + Powder Coat = Bad News?

Hi,

Looking into getting my old steel Fuquay frame powder coated but there are a couple of minor dings that need filling first, I've heard that normal car body filler cannot be used but have been informed that Isopon Metalik is okay because of the high metal content, has anyone used this before? gonna check it over with the powder coater but thought I'd check here first :D

Cheers

Hi there Stu

I do car/bike/boat body repair as a hobby ! ( restoring old cars, etc ! ) I can assure you there would be no problem using David's, 3M or any other top brand of car body filler ! Best you put it on in a few fine skims though.. Prevents cracking and shrinkage!!

Filled a dent in one of my early Kleins and 2pac painted it in a car oven !! Used candy green paint with a silver base ! More layers the heavier colour and blended it heavier from the front! Also incorporated a fine metal flake in silver !!! Looked the nuts but typicaly cant find photos as it was such a long time ago !! Doh..

Good luck with the finish buddy...

Cheers Guys,

I'll keep a photo diary of the transformation, been spending the last few weeks getting spangly parts to fit on it, still a few more things to find though :D
