Fibre flight spokes......

Hotwheels.

Old School Grand Master
So THIS is why everyone says don't use them, as they're prone to sudden and catastrophic failure.

I loved them snapping so much, I bought a job lot of them with all the tools and paperwork to fit on my next build! :)

For my experience, I see a broken spoke from time to time on my wheelset. Without using it!

When even a wall-hanger breaks, something has to be learnt.
The technology has thankfully moved on...

 WTF?!?!?! Seriously, you're committed to investing in this sketchy endeavor??? you're f'n crazy!

Re:

But hey.....they are beyond cool looking, especially if mated with a carbon hub. I had some built on a Nuke Proof very briefly (obviously) BITD.

In reality none of them cracked or broke.. i just couldn't afford the dental insurance premiums in the end.

I get it free through work, bonzer! One broke bitd, had it replaced with a black steel spoke since I had no spares, then ran this wheel for years on end with no issue until one day at about walking pace, a pesky and very feeble twig snagged in the wheel...clink clink clink clink clink they went until I hit the brakes, no doubt saving all the others from certain death. Rode home on it like that just fine. They seem strong enough with end pull, just no side loads...not even a stray dandelion it seems.

Indeed, it's a buzz knowing it could fail at any moment and hospitalise you! :) That's why for my next build, both wheels will be laced with the dodgy buggers...should keep me on my toes!
