Favourite skewers

For sheer good function and durability XT(R) Shimano's
Will get SALSA on my GROOVY (glad to read the good reviews :D )
The old RINGLE'S (holey) are pretty but 100% crap in function IMHO... then they create the "twisters" wich are no "QUICK" releases I think, but just solve the problem created by the Holeys
For lightweight freaks I found out that TUNE works amazingly good! Extremely lightweight but simple, quick and strong

I have soft spot for nice QR skewers for jazzing up builds: Mavic, Shimano, Hope, Salsa, Zero, Control tech, Syncros, Heylight and I'm sure I'm missing some. Hope I now have 3 or 4 pairs, solid, available and dependable, but the Salsa clamp more positive. Heylights from Germany are light as sin with aluminium! skewer axles but not sturdy enough for proper riding and therefore miss the podium.

It's a close call with the beautifully sculpted Zero's but my favorites allround are the Salsa, perfect blend of style and function. A true classsic

Enjoy!!

Sorry but Salsa really are not very good at all. They have geat style and leverage but the actual action is very poor. This kills the leverage (are we really discussing this?). If you are taking your front off and on after every ride you can will soon see that late XTR and Mavic.....ACTUALLY work.

Lid lays the Law.

(Its not actually the law .....more guide lines really)

Tune 8)

They work perfect, made from titanium and are available in different coulors.
