Nah, went for the 5k and the rigid fork. Like I said, my last "new" bike was in 2008.

It probably would make a difference, because there wouldn't have been a close to 20 year lapse in development progression.

It'll be designed and made by the original bloke to current 'fashionable' spec. It's what it would have been had it been 'development' for 20 years.

As many retro parts as possible. My 2008 Cannondale has a lot of retro parts. I will probably do the same where I can. I would love brake bosses and have asked for them, but probably won't happen. Some Paul V-brakes would look awesome.

Ventana build contract stuff in steel as well as alloy. Not reading between the lines I would say Ventana too:

Mate it's been designed by survey by a bloke who was content riding a 90s hardtail in gardening gloves in 2011. Not confidence inspiring. I hope he builds a few test shots before they go into production, because the likelihood of it being a handful of degrees or millimetres shy of great is high.
Whole different kettle of fish to if he'd stayed at the forefront of the industry.

RIGID FORKS!!!

Chris just posted that all $5000-$6000 pledges will get a new rigid fork with their frames, and all $2500 pledges will get the option to purchase one after the Kickstarter drive is over. That's pretty exciting, but they still need about seventeen grand. I just pledged $250 for some shirts and stickers and would encourage more folks to add their support!
