RIGID FORKS!!!

Chris just posted that all $5000-$6000 pledges will get a new rigid fork with their frames, and all $2500 pledges will get the option to purchase one after the Kickstarter drive is over. That's pretty exciting, but they still need about seventeen grand. I just pledged $250 for some shirts and stickers and would encourage more folks to add their support!

Yep, I wasn't going to do that without the rigid fork option. I think they can get the $15k in 15 days. The launch party should be cool too. I think you can opt to pick your frame up at the party.

Rigid Fat forks have been available for years, still made by the guy that made them at Fat:

The Fat replica is referred to as a restoration fork with straight blades and scalloped dropout. No doubt this will be the source of forks for these frames.

Re:

I am aware of Igglehearts forks, they are gorgeous. However, the new forks wouldn't be considered replicas, as they are new forks made to go on new frames. They might not even look like the old segmented models... I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Re:

Chris just posted more options:
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/14 ... nav_search

Many of you have already contributed to our KickStarter campaign. Because of you we are getting close to our KickStarter goal and the resurrection of Fat Chance Bicycles. Thank you!
Even more of you have expressed interest in helping me relaunch Fat Chance through KickStarter but want more options. There have been many requests for a "deposit" or “down payment” option on the frames. Others have asked us to add a rigid fork reward. Because of this we have just added two new rewards to KickStarter.
Frame Only Deposit - $1,000
Pledge $1000 through KickStarter and secure your frame. An additional $1,250 will be due when your frame is ready to ship. This is for the Fat Chance Yo Eddy Frame - 2015 Production frame only. This is for one of the first 150 of the “Fat Chance Yo Eddy Frame - 2015 Production” run of frames. Frame only.
Yo Eddy Rigid Fork - $500
A rigid steel Yo Eddy fork for the “Fat Chance Yo Eddy Frame - 2015 Production” run of frames. There will be two options available:
- 27fiver - Rigid fork for our suspension corrected 27fiver Yo Eddy frames.
- 29er - Rigid fork for our non-suspension corrected 29er Yo Eddy frames.
Forks will available in the same four solid color options as the production frames:
- Team Green - “Grello”
- Team Purple - Lavender
- Black
- Arrest Me Red
Fork colors can be mixed and matched with the frames. IE, if you get a Team Green frame, you can get a black fork.
My goal is to produce 100 frames in this first run, so I need your help to get there. Get your 2015 Yo Eddy frame today and help me bring Fat Chance Bicycles back while doing it.
Thank you for your support,
Chris Chance

Re:

..... just read this thread and I was kinda surprised by the amount of negative reactions ...... this is Fat Chance, the man himself! .. so no, it ain't gonna be the best value for money, buy a Cube or Canyon if you want that FFS, here you pay for the heritage, the name and to get a cool company back on the playing field. The man had (and most likely still has) a vision on bikes and steel, brought smiles to many faces and some color in the land of boring bikes, why not give him some more credit?
I sincerely hope it will work out for him, would be a nice addition to the market imho.
..... no, I'm not buying one ...... only ride Rohloff or Pinion bikes  :xmas-wink:

Re:

I hope so! :D Now, that he has made down-payments and rigid forks available, he should be able to get the last 9000 USD.

I would not want to see him work as a shiatsu practioner again.

I am no expert on intellectual property. I hope, the model name "Yo Eddy" is not owned by some other company which bought the rights of Fat City Cycles or something.
