FAT Chance 10th Anniversary frameset

Re:

We all know the market for selling high end stuff is terrible atm, whether its sports cars, iconic bikes, whatever. I and others just think its respectful to avoid making comments specifically about pricing ‘being off’ on bikes. It has a knock on effect of making ‘potential’ buyers think twice or more about buying ANYTHING. This just makes bikes unsaleable or devalues them so much the seller is left with massive losses IF they have to sell eg a distress sale. Demand Trends, price fluctuations and the realistic values may not always be apparent to non experts on rare bikes. How many people know what a Cunningham typically sells for ?

If that NOS 10th Anni was a m/l it would have sold to me offline. Im still gutted i lost the white one.

This is not an ‘investment venture’. Personally, I expect to loose 20-35% on resale of good stuff and splitting bikes up is a pita but a necessary evil these days. Im just trying to reduce the kicking I get and sometimes help other members out with a little free bump etc

We all have our fav brands, Merlin, Kleins, British made, FATs etc and some just specific models. Vive le difference !

FATs are still the BEST though :P

Good work on the FAT FS links - more of that please and lets return each others favours in the FS sections.

I did see an ebay asking price of $16500 for a used Fisher Procaliber a few years ago. Now that is taking the proverbial.

Peace out :D

This is an investment piece which will only increase in value in 10-20yrs unlike classic cars, which are now starting to be offloaded as a future without petrol beckons. Replacement retro parts for these will be easy to 3D print in future so that wont be an issue. Hopefully confidence in the economy picks up over this year and people start buying the high end stuff again.

Now I’m confused :?

Last week this WAS an investment opportunity according to the post above ^^^^

This week you post it’s NOT - I can’t keep up

Re:

I ‘personally’ buy these bikes because I like them, NOT as investments. Right now the market for high end boyz toyz is dire but I do think limited edition bikes like a 10th Anni will become more collectable ( and increase in value ) in future, a bit like early computer games consoles have done in recent years etc. I wish i could find one my size. Its all very trend driven. Lots of interest in very early rigs in the last 18 months or so.
