Fat Chance – Which saddle

Calling all retrobikers! I need help.

Been assembling a nice pile of parts to go on the wicked but I've suffered a crisis of conscience. How can I bring myself to build this bike with yet another Italia Flite?? I mean, seriously they're great saddles and I even have a flite-shaped arse which helps, but these must have been other great saddles back then we can choose from.

I used to run a Rolls on my bike for many years (even raced with it – all 400g of it :shock: ), and I've got a Regal on the Avalanche as it's the closest match to the old studded saddles that GTs came with back then.

The point is I fancy a change and I've no idea what else I can/should be considering.

Please help – I can't very well build this thing and spend my first ride standing up just 'cause I couldn't resolve my dilema

Want a classic that will survive for years to come, how about a Brooks Team Pro?

Period, strikingly beautiful, and after breaking it in, will have to fight the temptation to move it from bike to bike

How about a 'charge' saddle, they had good rating by many MTB mags, looked cool too.

My all time retro faves are Vetta; the SL and TT Trishock.

An SL sits on my Avalanche and I've just put a NOS TT Trishock on the LTS.

I'm with Scant, Bontrager Ti comes close in weight, size and feel to Flite and also has instant reckognition with the cut-off sides shape. Sorry for the big pic, Pink does that and I don't know how to change it

Same goes for SDG, classic shape and instant recognition, but it's a very different type of seat, did they make them Ti and light BITD?
