Fair price rise of stamps ?

You can do something about it. You can email, fax and use any number of alternatives instead of Royal Mail such as carrier pigeon, the neighbour's gullible son who does the paper round or even send coded messages within calls to talk radio. The world is your oyster.

It does change the cost of getting a message to the world. I suppose I should have added putting a message in a bottle. That is still a great way to make friends.

Prices have to rise !!!!! no they don't. Some do , others could come down, don't be a sheep.

Nailtrail, no it won't keep me awake because I will use other methods to send stuff now, because I won't just roll every time someone wants to extract for cash from me..BAH !

I don't get the constant sheep references, I spoke to farmer the other day and he told me sheep are outraged at the rise.
Royal mail has been subsidised by tax payers forever, if they're to sell it off it needs to stand alone and that means a price rise.
If you don't want to use it then don't. oink oink

So they were subsidised by the tax payer (that's us) and now we have to pay a large increase direct to them because the government will no longer be subsidising them ? Yet will our taxes go down because the government no longer needs our contribution towards that ? no it will just get absorbed into the coffers, while we pay out again for something we have already contributed to.

Or will the money saved now by the government now be used more wisely and spent on something really useful that will make all our lives better.......hmmm think not.

At the end of the day, whichever way you look at it and i was being tongue in cheek, it is yet again more money being taken from the average person, who thought that they were already paying for it. The truth is in/will be in the profits of the companies that deal with public services.

The sheep reference is about people who just follow these increases blindly without thinking they are getting ripped off. IE happy to go with the flow, cos it's easier, it must be ok.

I doubt the money will go anywhere accountable, But it makes far more sense to sell the PO than anything else thats ever been privatised.

I've never seen a stressed sheep, maybe a lesson there  .

You play Barry White songs to 'em?

Maybe that's where the Welsh go wrong, perhaps Tom Jones' songs are a bit too blatant.

No worries, as Voltaire said..''“I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it''
