Interesting that this made its BIN of £449, as I wouldn't value it at more than £300. I think it shows the value of a clever presentation.
It seems as though the frame is in exceptional condition, and that is a huge help - it's worth £150, may well be more. But what else have we got here?
"This is as close as it comes to buying a brand new one back in 1994" gives the impression that everything is original. So why then the 1995 Cinder Cone-level stem, post, saddle and bars? What happened to the ti bar, the nice O-Beam post and the genuinely light 1994 saddle with ti rails? Why the non-original black seat clamp and cable guide? Why the "mixture of Shimano XT/DX components" when there was no DX on a 94 Explosif? What is the condition of the parts? What wheels has it got? What Conti tyres will be substituted for the valuable ones that are shown in the picture to make the bike look better than it is?
Super frame, but I don't think much of the rest of it. £449 is the highest price I've seen for a retro Explosif for a long while, maybe ever, but this isn't the best example and I've seen better ones fetch a whole lot less.
