Excited over Onza!!!

Just received my Ebay score this afternoon. Amazing, found a NOS, never opened packaging set of Onza bold chromoly bar ends. Even more amazing is that this is the exact model I bought in high school back in April 1992, and the exact price of $25.99 I paid back then, too. Love these, as I ride quite a bit with my hands on the ends of the bars with the back of my hands facing outwards (like a roadie on hoods), so the hoods on these are perfect & comfy. Look killer on the bike, especially with the undamaged decals. Last pic is the Bikepro page in my April '92 MBA mag I used to highlight the upgrades I got back then :)

Excellent :-) Well done mate. Is the Diamond back the same as the one you had in school too? I have a pair of those bar ends in Flouro Green that'll be going on a Kona very soon. Onza were THE ends to have weren't they? I had some Control Stix 2s on a bike at one point because none of the shops around here had any Onzas left - I liked them a lot but the next set I got were Onzas. :-)

Re:

The price tag was probably marked down from original, as when I look through my older MBA mags, they were listed as $28.99, then dropped a bit by the time I got them in April '92. The Diamondback is not from high school - it's a '92 I bought new in October '93. High school bike was a 1991 Miyata Elevation 400' - chromoly, full rigid, 400LX groupset for $450. Grip bits were pretty easy to get on - instructions said to get them wet then slide them on - took a little reafing, but not too bad.
