There is an ominous irregular clicking from the front hub on my Alpinestars cromega, which I use daily for commuting. "Bearings are shot" I thought. Stripped it and tried to drop in 10 new 3/16" ones but they are too big! The cones and axles are originals, so there's no problem there. I can only assume that back in the day, Shimano made front hubs that took funny sized balls; 5/32" or something?
Anyone know? I tried JE James (LBS) but they just assumed it was 3/16".
