Out today on a regular route.

Incoming hover fly goes straight down my windpipe. Much coughing, puking and general unwellness followed. What a horrible experience. 2 hours later and I'm still coughing and being sick a bit :/

So, can anyone trump a hover fly?

same thing happened to me 2 weeks before mountain mayhem, i managed to spit the guts of it out but 1/2 an hour later i felt my throat being itcy, coughed up a load of green goo the next morning, a week later i still felt rough, went to the doc and it turned out i had developed an infection from it, got put on ammoxocillin which cleared it right up but left my guts in bad shape at mayhem forcing me to head to the loo every 5 hours or so!!

perfect for a camping/riding weekend i think you'll agree!!

I've eaten a fair few bugs, "lunch on the go", but none have ever caused me any problems. However, something big once hit me in the eye and that really hurt, had to ride home with one eye shut and my eye was bright red, sore and streaming for hours afterwards. I nearly always wear sunglasses, or eye protection now.

Swallowed one of these large boiled sweets whole.I was getting out a car in Newcastle miles from anywhere and it caught halfway down
Scared the absolute crap out me as it really was the middle of nowhere and miles from any hospital
My throat hurt for about a week afterwards
