Evans. grr

I had a bad experience with Evans and they too my £600 for a BMX for my Son and they
gave me tracking details of the package, after two weeks my bike was still at the couriers
so I contacted them and asked were my bike is and they said they are awaiting stock! Asked
how long that will be and was told 3 months, then I asked them to explain my order which has
tracking details!! There was no such tracking details and demanded my money back.

I stay well clear of Evans now, shite company.

My 2p
Against the normal train of thought - my local Halfords staff (Ballymena - Norn Iron) are very good, they are polite and helpful and I would recommend them. (I have heard stories about other Halfords not being as good)

I must also say that Planet X have been the best supplier i have used as i had a prob and they sorted it - with minimal fuss and not effort on my part.

I have bought from SJS, CRC, Merlin with no probs.

I think the measure of a company is when you have a problem and how easy it is to resolve. Not in stock is annoying, not paying back money is unacceptable, but when you have a problem - then you will see how good someone is.

May I add that Evans sent me a voucher for £75 as an apology for being misled.

Nearest bike shop (8 mikes) is Evans but rather go to Williams in Cheltenham. Staffed by nutters, sorry enthusiasts. Nothing too much trouble. Half an hour going through old boxes to find me a single spoke! Loved my team MF. The bike equivalent of one of those old style hardware shops. Lovely.

Also sells prams.

Funny how different people are I have never rated them , I thought that it was just plain wrong how they used to hold the big brand names as "dealers" which would prevent any other shops from stocking the brands in Cheltenham BUT the nobbers wouldn't actually stock anything

To be fair this is going back a few years
