I've had this 1991 Zaskar for quite a while now wasting away in the loft almost forgotten about. Since i've been doing the splatter paints i've been in and out the loft and kept seeing it and thought, sod it might aswell sell it and got it down from there. A quick clean and ideas started popping into my head and thought what if
My kona hadn't sold,my brains ticking away so i popped in at dinnertime and stripped the kona and put some parts on it. Came in tonight and stripped the lavadome, one thing led to another and this is where i'm at with it. :D I think the parts look better on this than the kona :)

The light was shit but thought i'd take a couple of pics of how far i'm upto with it,first couple are from dinner time.

Re: Escape from evil bay.

Nowt wrong with the splatter paint konas  But i agree this is been such a waste being left in the loft to gather dust  It's been a blessing in disguise the Kilauea not selling and having the 93 lavadome because now it's being brought back to life again. Plus when i bought it off the original owner i did promise him i wouldn't sell it,think he was sad to see it go. I'm taking it in today to have the steerer tube cut to size then we'll see where this build takes me and finally getting out and riding it.

Re:

Good job you swapped the parts from the Kona – your Zaskar looks awesome now. Although it's from '91, the bike looks like a timeless classic and quite "rad" – think the overall monochrome theme does wonders. Nice work dude 8)

Re: Escaped from evil bay.

Those tyres will make the ride crap and the Zaskar frame can be particular about the fork length. Too short and it 'tramlines'. A 'spenshun fork or an original GT steel fork always improves the front end.

But, back to 'I had this lying around in the loft' business...?
