Cold, wet afternoon here at Clockwork Towers. Having worked outdoors all morning, done shopping, banking and posting on the way home, popped in garage to ascertain that car is probably not worth spending any more on, I had a quick perusal, as you do, when I got in, of the eBay 'finishing at an odd time when no one else will be looking' listings.

And saw a frame I have always wanted. In my size. Going very cheap with one bid. Finishing at a weird time between the school run and people finishing work for the day.

And accidentally 'won' it. As you do.

Trouble is, I've no forks for it having just swapped the ones I did have for bits that are now on the 'other' build, and no spares at all unless I raid the 'other' build. And actually I think I want to make this my main rider and mothball the other one. Or do I.....or do I have two bikes again, neither of which will get ridden....the eternal retro dilemna!

Re:

Thank God, I thought no one would ever ask.........

Here's a teaser, someone will get it straight away

(Desperately wanted to get down to one bike, too)

I'm finding my retroness is loosing it's appeal, increasingly I'm disillusioned with the forum, not riding at all, prioritizing other passions, like my work and family and relationship.

I'm down to one bike, which I do love, but it's just going to be there for the odd ride out in the summer or when I might feel like a pint or two and don't want to be driving. I'll still tinker, because I don't know how not to, but I'm not finding it's something I want to be sharing with others any more.

Is this normal? Does anyone else empathise? Is it just a hobby taking it's course, is there a life span to all these things?

Ahem... <polite cough>

Re:

Well, yes, funny you should bring that up......

Bloke's going to be given the old heave ho, so guess what, I'm suddenly invigorated again
