Seat tube is very thin walled tubing, 27.2mm seatpost

Top tube is again very thin walled whereas the down tube feels to be quite a sturdy plain tube

Shimano dropouts, Haden BB shell.

i love this bike. i wreckon it would look great with deer head or some other friction shifter set. that with the drum brakes would be wicked.

I love this bike too!

I think I would probably edge towards the Suntour build.

Green with a nice black and silver mix would definitely be good.

I'd go with suntour... love the brakes!

I'd really like to build up a drum brake specific bike, is it stupidly heavy when built up?

no worse than most bikes of the era. brakes need lots of attention to make the wheels easy to remove. Sturmey drums are not the best either!
