Watch 'Electric Dreams' on BBC4, nostalgia retro trip big style.
Just watched the 1980's program, never thought an era of my life would be considered for a 'history' program
Most of the gadgets featured, passed through my home at the time including my parents microwave oven and MkII Ford Escort on the drive plus all the pop music in the soundtrack

saw that, my misses recons im like the guy with a shed full old videos but with bikes, funny to see how long everything used to take.

If that was my dad I'd have kicked him in the nuts after the programme for not overruling them and getting the Spectrum. He knew how much better the games would have been. Next week will be more depressing as it'll be a history programme with toys that I'm too old to have played with. One small gripe, last week the kid had a Raleigh Chopper and this week the dad a Sinclair C5. They were both wearing brand new modern cycle helmets. As if kids wore cycle helmets then.

It was tried with me, had a nice yellow Joffa skate lid, but it was never worn outside :) Did wear some rather cool kneepads for a while

Haven't watched the 80s yet , will likely do later tonight .

In the 70s one the guy with the barnet was riding along reading a book  you have to wear a helmet to portray safety to the masses but reading is fine

I liked their living room in the 70s , that was cool 8)

You like the decor Perry cos you didn't live through it

I did, we even had the sidboard with the built in record player, radio and speakers and then later we had the music centre where we made mix tapes

Always wanted a chopper but my Dad wasn't into fads, solid sit up and beg Raleigh engineering was what I got

Its the general style I like as opposed to the crappy stuff

The colours , shapes and wallpaper etc .

The 80s one just looked like my mums house :( what were side boards for exactly ? ours just had never used plates and phone books in it .
