effing car drivers

Almost got run over twice today. Once on my morning run and then again on my bike this afternoon. The one guy had the nerve to flick me off like it was my fault he wasn't paying attention.

Think this thread needs some balance.
I'm a cyclist, car driver and motorcyclist.
All 3 populations have "members" who don't really do the others any favours - drivers on mobiles and with crap lane discipline , cyclists on pavements and ignoring red lights, motorcyclists doing wheelies and over-revving.
What I'm saying is that in all 3 populations the above are probably in the minority,but give the others a bad name.
Also, as a cyclist, I think I am more considerate and careful towards other road users when driving and I'm sure others are the same.

If I didn't drive, I wouldn't be able to do my job and therefore wouldn't be able to buy and enjoy my bikes.

I'd love to ban cars.
It would really slow the pace of life down to something more manageable.

and there would be less fat people!!.. The world would be manageable, and have more attractive people...

So....ban cars and reduce the number of fat, ugly folk as a result. Bad news for Clarkson on 3 fronts there

Not sure, but you are doing nothing more than recording your commute for prosterity any act of bad driving that happens to be captured as a result was just a bonus. It would be similar to a pedestrian filming their kids and capturing a robbery in the background.

It can prove to me very motivational in avoiding it again i can assure.

I've been hit side on, from a car pulling out of a junction in the rainy twilight, I went right over the bonnet. How I avoided a broken collarbone when I hit the road arm out, I'll never know. It motivated me to ride with two front lights instead of one old weak one, but I've had a fair few near misses too.
The only time I've ever ruined a tyre however is when someone threw a lit match out their window, I ran over it and it punctured the 18mm roadie tyre. I slammed on the brakes, skidded and fell on my arse, ripping my shorts. All done through my own anger.

I can understand tyres in F1 being "ruiined" by being flat spotted, but that's a long way from one skid on a bike.

Ooh now, from right off the top of my head, I don't think you have to tell anyone, but IIRC you may have to make the footage freely available if anyone requests it. That may be part of the FOI act, which I've never read.
