Eddy Merkcx frame serial number info needed

64 would also be marked 4. It's pretty easy to tell the difference between the two. :D If they ever made a 44cm - which sounds like a terrible idea in a 700c - I'm pretty sure they'd label it a 4 as well.

Unfortunately, I have no idea if the Meise factory is still open. They're listing a different address on their website now, so it's possible.

The correct address is merckx.serials, and the domain is .org, not .net, just in case you have any additional q's or anyone ends up on this thread looking for a way to track me down.

The Meise factory has been closed for at least 18 months now as far as I can recall. They had a big blowout party and sale on the final weekend then, come Monday, everything was gone :(
The new (then) website/owners sent a message around about it happening.
The colour looks original to me and while they have a paint coding system, from what I can work out it only relates to them and doesn't give a correlation to RAL codes etc.
I bought my Corsa Extra from the factory but had to pay through a dealer and mine came with the build card which has a paint code that I think just describes the overall paint job/style not anything else. Mines a 48cm ' custom' which pretty much meant it was built in a very small batch, hidden in a corner then the retail price was about £100 dearer than a standard. Anything smaller than 50cm was a 'custom' I don't know why as it it used less steel so should have been cheaper ;)
To be fair I certainly got a good deal from them and paid well below the retail as they were stopping all steel production and I think they just wanted it out the way. I'll try and dig out my reciept but it was a bargain. I got it when I first came over from Australia and all I wanted for a long time was a steel Merckx and while I bought my TCR with me, I had soon organised for the Merckx.
I love mine and it is the one that will never be sold.

I looked up my old reciept for anyone that may be interested and at the time the Corsa Extra was retail at £495 with the 'custom' being £599
I got mine delivered for £350 :)
