Yep, happened to me now. Sold a buggy to a chap in Switzerland, posted it by Global Value on 3rd November and now the buyer has opened a dispute through paypal (without even contacting me first  )saying he has not received it.

In the listing I put overseas postage at £50 but also said it was an estimate so asked bidders to contact me for actual cost and options (pay more, get it faster etc). The buyer didn't and just paid the £50 so I posted it via Global Value as this was the only option that came in his price range.

Anyone any experiance on how long Global Value takes? I put a return address on the box so would expect it to come back to me if there was a problem. I've also still got the receipt.

I'll go to the post office today but get the feeling I'm stuffed. Any advice would be welcome. :(

I'd have thought it should have got there by now, but I've had some quite long delays when posting far afield.

Can you ring the courier and ask them for an update? Did the £50 cover the buggy's value under any insurance?

Does global value give any estimation of how long the service takes?
Is there any tracking option?

I've only posted a couple of bits into Europe but, conversely, things have taken up to a month to get to me from overseas...

Bit harsh to go straight to dispute though.... what an a-hole.

Tell me about it  I'm almost as pi**ed about the fact he has not contacted me in any way before putting the dispute in.

Looked at the Parcel Force website and don't think it's tracked but I'll go to the post office to see what can be done. The insurance will no cover the price. That's what you get for doing someone a favour in trying to get postage price down. Painfull and costly lesson learned.

Never ever send anything via Ebay with it being signed for at the buyers end. There are too many shites out there not to. My guess is that he has it and as he didn;t have to sign is now reporting it undelivered and think free buggy.

To be honest I don't sell overseas as it far easier to rip someone off from afar.

Carl.

That's my guess too Dr. :( Might do some digging on the buggy sites to see if he has previous. He's got good feedback though so it might be genuine.

that said, i moved a couple months ago and the postie at my old place was ace, always came same time, nothing ever missing, very friendly

this place ive had lots of things go missing, always a different postie, always a different time, what can i do? some of the things arent worth claiming for, but can i complain about the posties?! although i dont know which one it is as there are so many!

Have a look at Maxbashing they are quite hot on dodgy traders and run a good ship (much like this place).

from my own previous disputes, i think if you can prove that you have posted the goods (which you can) then they shouldn't be able to complete the dispute. thats certainly how it used to be.

have paypal asked for proof of postage?
