Ebay second chance offers.

Surely thr 2nd chance offer is whatever your maximum bid was, so if you were happy with your max bid then you should be happy with the 2nd chance offer :?

Unless you've already gone and bought something else.

True, but ebay would be crap if you kept paying the max for something no?



Anyway, I went ahead and bought it, seemed genuine enough and it helps me out. I could have haggled for a few quid but hey ho.

The only problem with your line of thinking (and i cant blame you!) is when people like me offer a genuine 'SCO'. For example i was selling a Raleigh Burner, it got bid up to £350 ish (bad memory!) and the winning bidder messed me about really bad, so i told him to f**k off and approached the next highest bidder, they said that they had second thoughts and was not interested, so i went to bidder number 3, then 4 then 5, no interest from any of them.

And to top things off i got charged nearly £40 for the pleasure by ebay!!!! :evil:

That's what I don't get, why bid and then when you a given the chance to buy it at the price you bid they back out... only thing I can think of, is that there in no thrill in it like bidding in the dying seconds and buying something you didn't need that badly

The thing is its not offered at the price you bid, its at your max bid. If the winning bidder pulls out they've taken you to your highest price and not what you would have gotten it for had that bidder not been in the race.

and I might add, also depends on how often the part comes up. If it rarely comes to auction, I'm taking the second chance offer even if it makes a fool of me
