Has anyone ever experienced someone rude on ebay ?

Here is my example :- I was bidding on a Specialized rockhopper in Kingsbridge in Devon it was old and tatty but only £20. I noticed that on the ad it said no collections and a delivery cost of £10 local. So I just sent the guy a message saying my relative lives in the same town are you really going to charge me £10 for delivery ? Without messaging me back or anything he just cancelled my bid

  BASTERD

You probably didn't want to buy from them then !

I bought some forks recently and received not one piece of correspondence from the seller.
I emailed on winning to say will make a payment etc, paid.
Heard nothing for a week then they turned up.

A simple 'thanks, got your payment or I've sent them would have been nice'

Some people are just ignorant.

I'd complain to eBay if he just cancelled your bid. A bid is legally binding on both sides.

No I didn't after that especially as it all seemed very dodgy to me after that as well :?

I agree some people are really ignorant on there, I am not saying I am perfect by any means but if someone contacts me direct I will normally answer them :D

i don't mind the rudeness to a certain extent, if you ask a question and get a crap response then i don't buy the item even if i really want it. a crap answer to a question generally means the item will be in poor condition or they'll be slow in sending or leaving feedback etc, if you like it is an indication of the type of person meaning if the person is a numpty then it's likely they don't care about what they are selling.

i just had a guy be a numpty with me, i bought some m900 xtr canti's, reasonable end price but when i received them they were slightly mismatched. the front brake was fine but the rear brake was one front and one rear caliper(one was shorter than the other) i emailed him politely and said they're mismatched etc and he said to send them back. i suggested he give me a fiver off instead as that meant it didn't cost me 2 lots of postage for nothing and it saved him losing postage/listing fees and re listing etc. he said ok. then took 2 weeks to refund the fiver . . . numpty. i had to politely threaten to leave negative feedback before i got a response saying "my internet is down" does he think i am thick? if you are emailing me via the internet then you can get on to paypal and refund 5 quid!! also we all know it takes about a minute to pay for something by paypal so sending a message and not sending the payment because of lack of time is just simply very poor.

so rudeness i can live with. people who treat you like you are thick when they are idiots is what gets my goat.

Very true too Johnnyboy666.

I have also experienced this too, some time back I won a Carrera Zelos frame with a hope disk caliper and some X9 bits on it. At the same time I won in Canada a new left hand crank for my cnc Syncros crank, unfortnately at exactly the same time I had a large unexpected bill come through. So I was not so into retro bikes at the time so I decided to forego the Syncros crank :? Stupid boy  So I payed for the Zelos, then I heard nothing for nearly three weeks and no package arrived. Despite many messages being sent by me to the seller, I did however get a message from someone saying the seller had been injured and was going to send mre the frame a.s.a.p. but still nothing. So having a 21 day period to register a complaint and start a greivance I did so...... Then I got a message from the seller saying he had been injured in Afgahnistan fighting to defend my freedom so on....... So I sent him a message back saying that is all very well but what the hell was he doing selling stuff on Ebay when he was in no position to send it :?: :?: :?: :? Then he started to threaten me...... I eventually got my money back...... But still missed the crank

not just ebay

I saw a £75 marin on gumtree, it looked incredibly small given that it was listed at 20 inch frame

so i emailed saying sorry to trouble them can you confirm a 20 frame as the picture is quite decieving and makes it look a lot smaller

I got an email back say...I told you it was 20 on the advert didn't i!

i returned the message saying sorry but I won't be progressing any further as I found the reply rude

to which he replied ..I am very busy and have no time to waste on people asking me stupid questions

i didn't bother replying but it tought me..not all people selling bikes are genuine bikers

but for every clown selling something there's loads of nice folk selling
stuff

On the upside a numpty is less likely to know the true value
of that tatty old bike they have for sale which turns out to be a gem !
