It is in fact a 1990 as the seller states, but I don't know about 'pre-splatter'. I suppose it's possible that the lack of splatter on the white 1990 Lava Domes means that they weren't painted by Paul Brodie, but post-date the end of his work with Kona. The yellow ones had splatter, but not the white ones nor the red ones.

I certainly agree that the original paint design, whoever did it, is far better than any respray I've ever seen.

Interesting point as ever Anthony. Do like these early Kona paintjobs, this one look especially clean sans splatter.
