there are a few threads around the interweb on these frames, most seam to be posative, If I come accross any I will let you know. Its over on the Time trial forum if you want to hunt around.

How do they get away with this? It looks like it's made in the same moulds as the Pinarello Prince - gear dropout and carbon grade is different though.

And it probably won't break, like Princes do.

I wouldn't ride one. Who knows what the lay-up is like. It could be mostly cheap cross strand mat with a thin layer of woven mat on top. Could even be fibre glass underneath. Also, has it been anywhere near an autoclave?

Most probably these are made in the same factory as the branded stuff. Like memory chips for PCs, there are only a few places that make stuff like this.

I know someone locally who's got a MTB frame similar to these (from a different seller) that's been fine for the past year or so. It is heavier than most branded models but still lighter than a low end aluminium frame.

Done lots of nosing around as suggested .... The usual lots of people have brought them with great reports and the people who haven't and shun them.

When you've seen as many broken "insert major italian brand name beginning with P"s as I have, then the notion of buying a cheaper but heavier imitation might seem more attractive.

I take your point about the Italian trash  but heavier doesn't mean stronger and you won't know until it fails. It may be built in the same factory in the same moulds but is it built to the same standards with the same quality of materials. Maybe, but you just dont know. If it's heavier then it sounds like the lay up is different so as I said, it could be anything.

Of course not. But let's just say I had a 3 year co-operation with the company beginning with P, and warranty was my key responsibility area. And I would never ever buy one of their products.

I think saying more than that would be breach of contract even though my boss was a word that hates women.
