Ebay Bastads!

Ebay is going down the pan, trust appears to have gone and prices are too high, postage has gone mental. I have sold stuff on there but am now reluctant to go there again because of the attitude of many a customer who seems so happy to complain about anything. My last complaint was my packaging was dirty, like wtf ,who cares it got there safe didn't it, packaging goes in the bin.

It's little more than a notice board at best these days, nothing seems to go for less then the seller wants so the auction part is pointless.

For centuries Geordies have used the term sket as an insult but it refers to fish.

I was thinking of stopping using eBay cos of idiots that sell the wrong things and complain about what price auctions end at, until I came across seller 1racket from Israel this is the most trusting and honest seller ever I ordered a pair of fox 32 rlc fit kashima coated forks and he sent me the wrong fork
after a little toing and frowing with emails he asked me to keep the other forks and Post them on when he gets an order for them, and sent me the correct forks I thought this was unbelievable and when I sent him a shipping quote on the old forks for £15 he sent me £35 over paypal to say sorry for misunderstanding!

Faith in humanity restored :D

And now you're primed for the big sting that sees him living in your house!
Only kidding, it's nice to know not all decent folk have stopped using it.

Few and far between!

I use it to buy, never to sell and it seems im right for that!

Ebay has become 'bigger' than itself.

Well the git did not send it, and claims they cannot locate the box, but now says he will refund in 1-2 days.

"Is there a good reason for delaying a refund? I prefer to keep things 100% on the level, so if you don't have the money right now be honest about it and we can amicably resolve the problem. Thanks in advance."

Thinking about this response.

You have opened a dispute / claim (however they word the start of that process, these days), haven't you?

If nothing else, you'll almost certainly get the money back by default from ebay / paypal, then, although probably with more of a delay than if the seller just sorted it out upfront.

Had a non-arrival of an item I ordered on the 1st, seller emailed back in 5 minutes asking for confirmation of address and then 5 mins later to say another item would be in the post today. Asked me to message them when it arrives and to keep an eye out for the original in case it turns up. Seems OK so far.

Carl.

There are a couple of regular scams I've come across (not happened to me but to others):

One bloke auctioning a rare record. It goes for less than he wants, so he refunds the seller with a message along the lines of "I couldn't actually find it in my collection/it's scratched/a mate has borrowed it, sorry."

A couple of days later, a new ad from the seller for the same item.

Another one was for car seats, this is worse. Ad says collect in person, bloke pays in advance by PayPal, collects the seats in person, all smiles, then opens up a PayPal dispute saying he never received the seats in the post. As seller has no proof of post, PayPal paid the money back to the buyer.

Even though the seller had written receipt, PayPal said he could have forged it, so wouldn't have any of it. Massive flaw, beware.

So now, I stipulate cash on collection on anything they are picking up locally. If they try to pay me with PayPal, I'll immediately refund it until they turn up with the cash.

I have won a couple of things on the insulting bid game for 99p asked the sellers if they were happy for it to go for that 1 wasnt pleased with finalbid so I let him off but a couple have said you won it fair and square and posted it off no probs. You will get f-tards where ever you look but there are honest decent folk on there.
