eBay and sniping

i like the group function on gixen, say you want an an xbox but only want to pay £50. you find all the xbox under £50 and group them togther. gixen will keep bidding till you win one, then stop.

I used to use sniping things but I am full manual these days. I only eer bid on things in the last 15 seconds and I only ever bid what I am willing to pay. If I win great if I don't there will be another thing along some time.

When you think 'it only went for a quid more than my bid' that is probably the bid increment over your highest bid. Could be the other guys max was fifty over yours and you still wouldn't have got it.

Nice to have the opportunity to add that extra 1.20 and see if it works or not though isnt it. People that sit there and manually bid feel cheated by snipers as there isnt a chance to have another go.

Please tell me more about gixen.

But what I do is exactly what a sniper does. A sniper will never outbid someone who has a max higher bid than you have told it to snipe at so whatever you do is moot in that case whether you bid an extra 20p or not. That is how ebay works.

Happy to be challenged if I am talking bobbins though.

But a person is more likely to outbid a person than a machine that bids in last 5 seconds. Within 10seconds i can get 2-3 bids in if im quick. 5 seconds is much much harder.

Winning is simple:

Enter the maximum amount you are willing to pay for the item at the last possible minute. If you do not win then it's gone over you maximum bid. Simples.

I normally have 2 maximums.

A conservative one, the one i would like to win the item at which goes in at around 10-25 seconds and then i have a 'oo just a bit more' maximum which goes in at <10 seconds.
