Early Proflex with identity crisis

Now I know that the 550 was the only steel FS /version in 1991 but it had a blue flexstem & rear triangle to match the decals, not red/salmon like this one which makes me think it was a 750 with a warranty replacment main triangle (cos the alu ones usually snapped)

That is weird :?

Frame and forks deffo from 550.
Swingarm is a 750. Flexstem quill section is from 550, extension and bar clamp section from a 750. This colour was not available aftermarket, and deffo not in steel topped quill.

Component mix is no way original. Suntour and Shimano never got mixed as I was informed Shimano would refuse to supply part gruppos to OEMs.

Certainly weighed a bit too...
