Early 80s Miyata Silver Blue paint code

Retro Newbie
Hi, my dad still rides the bike he bought when he was a teenager. When he was younger he painted it a different color (a little sloppily) and he's lamented doing that many times over the years. I'm wanting to polish things up and re-paint the frame, maybe make some replacement logos on a cricut for it. I'm pretty sure it's a 1981 Miyata 110 as pictured in this catalogue:

I'm wondering if anybody might know what a good paint code to match the original Silver-Blue frame might be? The bike is no longer that color and dad's memory is a little fuzzy so it would be difficult to try and match it with swatches, was hoping someone might know a close color off-hand. Thanks!

I've done this a few times (including with a 1984 Koga-Miyata) and found the best way is to find a car that looks the right colour. Then you go to a paint shop and they will mix it for you or can buy rattle-cans online. BUT - the colour does always look a bit darker on a bike frame than it does on a car, so err on the lighter side.

Good on Dad's son. Can't help with paint code, but decals should be available online.

Remember, sometimes us old Dads need things to grump about from our past. Anything that interrupts or sidelines or unduly emphasizes our cycling might make us grumpy, too.

In my personal experience, quality time (cycling or otherwise) with a son is life's most rewarding present. Right up there with a pair of cycling tights for chilly days. ; )
