Where can I get one of these tools to remove an unused and unwanted 5 speed 13-21 gold dura ace freewheel ?

Can you still get them or do I have to get an engineering company to make one?

My LBS is not up to anything this exotic!

Any other methods or ideas for removal without destruction? :D

The 70's Gold Dura-Ace 5/6 speed had 2 prongs which were not recessed and all you had was a thin rim of metal to get them off.....nightmare

The Regina one fitted but as always generally bent the edges of the freewheel..... heres a pic from Velobase, complete with knackered edges to the freewheel recesses

Re:

Why didn't I think of posting a picture?

It is the two prong one that is smaller prongs than the sun tour one.

Yep that's the beasty :D

I used a piece of flat bar to remove mine. It was a fight though.

I had to strip the whole freewheel assy to get enough purchase on the slots to remove it without mullering the threads and the slots.

Re:

I was hoping not to have to resort to that :D

As it's a new one I am assuming it should come undone fairly easily once I can get the right removal tool just trying not to damage it.

Buy the correct tool.

No BODGING.

Looks like that nut will have to come off first which is attached to the axle, Can't see the removal tool fitting over that and looks wrong.

Two ways to remove the freewheel:

Freewheel remover clamped in a vice and placing wheel on it, turning anticlockwise to remove.
Freewheel remover clamped up solid by the quick release, then use the correct size spanner and give it some thrust! soon as its loose, loosen the quick release.

As always ebay is the cheapest & easiest to get the tool:

But it will look like this one! Infact I've still got my old Suntour remover purchased back in the 80's and fits every two prong freewheels.

The remover has to be held in solid or it will slip out.
