Could you not clamp it in a big vice, and tighten it as hard as you could and see if it straightend it?

this, or use 2 adj spanners to push/pull against each other.

it's a bit weird 'cos it's bent in kind of like an "S" shape :o

If it were me I'd try and have a go at straightening it myself, it's already pretty buggered so it can't really get much worse, if it doesn't work then you'll need to find a frame fixing dude anyhow.

(it's your frame though :) )

I was going to suggest the same thing. Maybe leave it in clamped up overnight

I thought about using a vice, I'll probably give it a go tomorrow. Got some 1" marine ply to face the jaws with. Suppose it can't make it much worse

Beenout and played around with it in a vice this morning, the wheel now goes in but it's nowhere near central, just under 10mm offste to the drive side... Also found some more damage, ok it's just a gear cable but it's right up at the front of the bike. I recently bought another Lava dome from a member on here, when it arrived it was beautifully packed, loads of bubble wrap etc, this other guy ok he'd tried but just threw the skewers, seat clamp, seatpost and saddle pedals into the box, as a result they're rattled around causing a lot of scratches to the frame.....

Looks a lot better but still not perfect? whats the next stage? looks like it could be very hard to get it perfect now?
On the scratches front, I used to have a splatter Cindercone and I just dipped a small brush in paint and resplatterd the scratches and chips looked ok and you coulndt really tell but Im not that much of a perfectionist so I was happy with the results.

I know everyone's thought it but no one's said it yet so, what a bleedin' nob! Why would you be so stupid when a bit of scrunched up freepaper is all it needs (as a minimum) just to hold things in place, beggars belief.

I collected a bike for Charlieboy that the seller had failed to post and the saddle was sticking out of the box (no wonder they refused to collect it!), parts all loose and rubbing, would have been destroyed on route, so lucky I got to it first!

Hope a refund gives you enough to see a proper frame builder if the lgf method above can't fix it.

It's now in the hands of the LBS, the guy reckons it shouldn't be a problem. My vice wasn't deep enough to get the whole drop out in.......

a vice willl strighten that out no probs - place aluminium over the jaws to protect the paintwork - if it still is a bit bowed, them use 3 bits of metal, 2 on one side and one on the other to push the bulged section inwards.

it looks pretty close from the potos - you tried a mech on it?

Yeah tried a mech and got the wheel in but the problem is that the wheel is now offset to the drive side by about 10mm and it doesn't really sit right. I'm not really a perfectionist but I won't give up until it's right and there is quite a strong chance I'd have buggered around with it too much and breaking it.
