Don't you love it when a frame turns up with something extra

Normally it would be some frame damage that wasn't mentioned or its just not what was described, but in this case the Pace frame that was a bit of a punt turns up with a Royce BB, Syncros headset and a Ringle stem. None of which were mentioned!! :D
Anyone else had similar??

Re:

My mate had a family of black widow spiders in a vw camper he bought from the states....

We were certainly surprised!

Re:

Recently bought a slingshot frame with American classic seat post, tange struts forks and hope ti bb for a touch over £100... Happy days :)

Re:

Recently took a punt on ebay on a 1991 3 series Cannondale frame and pepperoni forks in a medium size with a poor photo.

When it turned up it had a fresh powder coat in tasteful pure orange,a decent XT headset, four new brake bosses and a new gear hanger. As a added bonus the bottom bracket threads had been chased out so a new bottom bracket just screwed in.I did have to add a new bottom bracket cable guide.

Total cost of all this magnificence? £28

The next one up was a 1992 Cannondale 3.0 series complete bike, again in medium with pepperoni forks, with wrong decals and rubbish components.Bought for £52,the extra here is that the wheels turned out to be OK and fetched £50.00 on ebay.Result:the £2 frame and forks.

Why no love for Cannondale?

and on a parallel but slightly unrelated subject, i bought a second hand speed controller for an RC car. Absolute top end kit, retails at well north of 200 quid (if you can find them, rare as rocking horse shit in europe.) The chap wanted 35 quid, inc postage. Bargain.
Turns out its still brand new in packet with all the manufacturers seals in place, upon opening it turns out is had only been manufactured 6 months ago.......
That certainly put a smile on my face.

Bought another speedo from someone else a couple of months ago. 60 quid inc postage for a 200 speedo, marked as "used".

Only reason it was marked as used was that he'd opened the packet, realised it was far far too big to fit in his car, then sold it. Hadn't even opened the bag with all the cables in it.

Re:

Years back I took a gamble on a badly listed Orange Aluminium 'O'. The hidden M900 groupo and Mavic 231CD/Hope wheels proved it was a good gamble. :D

Slightly left of target, but an offer of a lift to a friend of a friend.......friend had said to friend of friend that I had an unhealthy interest in old bikes and the very first time I met him to pick him up he thrust a completely original '95 cinder cone at me as payment for fuel...... :D ........happy days indeed!.......the lift was only about 4 miles too!.....

Had a friend pick up a bike for me (Raleigh USA Technium) that was around the corner from him. Pulled a few other parts out of the car for me out of his own stash when he dropped off the bike. Brodie climbMax F+F, NOS Dragan fork, NOS Pro Forx, Ti Project Two, Manitou X-Vert, no logo King HS, Toplines, 3DV Zooka, Pederson SE..........just some stuff he had lying around he thought I might want.
