you finally get the last bits for your new build through in the post, you have to wait until half nine when you finish work to come home and put the last couple of bits on then sort your cables and......... the front mech cable is a good 4" too short :evil: :evil: :evil:

absolutely gutted as i had planned on taking it to work in the morning (usually a 15 minute ride) but giving myself about an hour so i could work out any kinks in the mechs adjustment on the way, fine tune the breaks, seat & stem positions.

gutted - gonna have to dive to the shop on the way home at lunchtime tomorrow, wire it up in the afternoon & hopefully have it setup for the evening shift.

that is a bummer for sure.

but just set your front mech on the middle or top ring using the H/L adjusters and bingo - you got 8 (or maybe 9) gears!

just waiting for the bits to come through the post so i can start my SS project my biggest problem will be sorting the chain line out because i've already done the brakes!!
