Does anyone know where to get one of these? V Brake Adapter

With a V the stop in the noodle is the last fixed point - equivalent of the canti hanger. And pertinent to this, the stop in the noodle is quite close, location wise, to where a canti hanger would be.

You need a cable outer for V's to work, not so for Canti's. The Klein in question has exactly same principle as early 'dog-collar' Kona's.

For more info on the adaptor in question:

EDIT, you don't mention which Klein you'd actually like to run V's on - if it's a slightly later one then there is another option:

there's no proper full-size cable outer in that photo - v-brakes need that to work
So how would cantis work, then?

That's what I'm struggling to understand? The distance between stops using either the canti bridge, or the v noodle would be very similar, so how would cantis work, then?

cantis dont use the rear section of housing as an integral part of their function, the frame stop in the centre of the stays provides the fixed point

with a V, the stop on the top tube is the last fixed point.

The Canti Hanger is not really a 'fixed point', it's just a convenient way to house some outer casing to act as a cable guide.

With the V-brakes the housing is doing more than just guiding the brake, it is acting in compression between two fixed point, the one on the frame and the 'noodle' or similar. This in turn creates a 'fixed point' at the and of the arm, the other fixed point being where the cable is clamped.
When you pull the break the cable between these two 'arm fixed points' gets shorter pulling the breaks together.
If you routed that clear/white cabling you see in to a v-brake it would then crush and be buggered ;) All it's there for is to guide and mainly protect the frame and the cable.

With Canti's the 'arm fixed points' are there and clamped already, you're just tugging on the cable from the middle.

Go try it, miss the rear part of the canti guide cable out with canti's, and see if it still works, then try it with a v-brake without the outer casing.

Rob,

Saw that but none of it will apply to a klein. Stupid internal routing!!! :)

I should have the Attitude built in the next couple of weeks using the "Klein Do Dah" and will post a photo at that point.
I am still going to look for an alternative but I really don't see one at the moment.

Ah, yes...internal routing...doh!
