I 'd love to but as ive never really listened to them ,sure i heard friends + family play them and their music is intelligent but sometimes their subject matter can be somewhat ..unusual.The main thing was ,i didnt like Morrisseys drones,[sorry meant Tones ]and it put me off,
once that happens its hard to get into it
My sister and a couple of musician friends class them as a pretty damn good band,+ i trust their music tastes
Only its his voice
And thats an argument that will go round forever-

Im letting Mr Mint go to a new farm,and im sure his new owner will be so overwhelmed with joy and happiness that the karma will naturally float towards me.

well...I love Moz...but imho, he's not the best thing about The Smiths...well at least not solely the best; I love Johnny Marr (guitarist/song writer) as well.

If you want to hear some of him without Morrisseys tones, then put in some Modest Mouse.

I appreciate controversial lyrics/subject matter; otherwise, the only thing left to listen to would be easy listening pop music...if you are referring to Reel Around the Fountain when you speak of strange subject matter, I don't take it as referring to a child molester...if you are referring to the militant veganisms of meat is murder, well you got me there- I love my steaks

regarding that other matter, I never saw the original post that ignited the matter; just read the aftermath, and figured it was none of my business...glad you got it all sorted

btw, if you are daring enough to give The Smiths another try, I would highly recommend Hatful of Hollow.
