Trust me it’s easy. Just sand paper, you need to take 0.2mm off all round. Think in your head how much that actually is.
Rub a bit and try and slot it in. Run a bit and try and slot it in. Your not messing with the inside diameter. If anything due to the slit in the shim it will go in straight away. Just a little deformed. Just keep rubbing till you post slides in as normal.

I actually also have a very nice never used cane creek 27.2/29.6. If you decide to stick a modern post in if you go down that route.
