Some people are like that, but i ain't ''Alf Garrnet''...wish i could laugh it all off, but I can't stick my head in the sand anymore 
You have to bear in mind that EU regulations also enable expats like me to LEAVE the country and work/start up businesses in other EU countries, leaving a job vacancy for someone else at the other end.
Put it this way - if I was looking to scrounge a lifestyle in a EU country, the UK would not be my first port of call.
Just in my little town in Denmark (population 3000) there are 5 british nationals, all of whom are working and paying taxes here.

IDB1.....expressing an opinion to start with ! comunicating with others to get their feedback and idea's......that's my starting point.
But I get the feeling that the PC brigade have already branded me a racist or something worse (which would be a joke if you knew my history), someone who has recently decided to not just roll over and pretend ' every thing is ok ' I know it's in vogue to be all lovey and PC and not make waves these days, but that's why the UK is how it is now, not just imigration, many other issues.

Must admit I don't really care who comes in to the country as long as they're decent. I'd never get my hair cut again if the Polish lass that sorts my mop out got sent away 
Given the chance I'd probably go and live/work in South East Asia so I can't really moan about people coming here.

To clarify (think it's best) I've nothing against the imigrants as individuals, if i had the chance to go somewhere better or to make better money, it's only natural to do so.....it's just the sheer numbers, in a time of resession. And the extra benefits paid out. Just don't think we can afford it........The UK is not actually that big.
My beef is with the government, which is what i should have said in the 1st place....it's their decission and i think it's wrong, there should be a cap on numbers and checks on work qualifications and criminal records.
There have been children working in the fields round here, and i bet they get paid crap money. Where as some just come for the benefits.
If someone would like to tell me of these other countries that are an even softer touch than the UK please say where they are...............I'll get a plane ticket
