deep cup headsets...?

I had a ti frame (actually still have it) and I found that some headsets were a little easy to fit. Luckily someone on here had a few and sent me them all to try. Eventually found a couple that fitted nicely. Have you got access to any other headsets to try out? I found that Chris kings were the loosest but a token and woodman fitted well. Didn't have a hope at the time so can't comment on one of them but the cups used weren't any longer than others iirc, just fitted better.
I think much of the time its just intolerances of the material in the headtube :? The cup going into it is machined to a tight tolerance and the internal section of the headtube is not. Bound to be some slight differences now and again.

I've found an alloy tape take up these differences for a snug fit.
Cannot for the life of me do i know what its called only its extremely thin with a peel off glue backing.
When you remove the headset cut you can see on it where the foil has stuck and where its scraped off, that to me indicates intolerances in the interface which can id suspect always be the headtube, unless of course that has been machined internally.

If you go deep cup. Check the head tube has the space.

If got a couple of frames with small steps ~20mm up the tube. It's not uncommon either.

Yeah, it sprang to mind when i thought about that horrifically bodged GT/lefty combination where a deep cup headset had been used to split the head tube.
