A month or so back I ran a thread asking for advice on decal removal.

Well, I'm about ready to do it as I've got a few other bits planned for the RTS. But, before I go ahead I had a sudden 'is this the right thing to do' thought.

I would only be proposing to remove the RTS-2 from the top tube.

Your thoughts guys; keep it with period decals or go with personal taste.

It's your bike, you want to take it off so go for it - if you decide you want it back see Uncle Gil.

take them off. it's your bike after all.

what's the worse that can happen? You'll need to buy new ones or get them made.

It's not like you're doing a rattle can spray job on a klein is it?

Yea, good call.

Whats the worse that could happen, I think 'oh, it doesn't look right'! I just call Gil_m and get it sorted.

Right, where is the Mrs Pickle's hairdryer......

But before removing them, you are going to take some *very clear* pictures of them for Gil_M to work from, aren't you?

just removed most of the old (torn) decals of my marin yesterday. it works really well with the hairdryer trick. if you are carefull enough the decals will stay intact. so reproducing the decals should be no problem if you decide otherwise later on.
i personally would stick to the original decals as long as they are in good condition.
but
it's your bike after all.
thanks john, most important quote. tedious when people start getting religious about other peoples retro bikes.
