"I in no way condone what the Marine did, but to call the 'Taliban Soldier' innocent is stretching a point, as only moments earlier he had been trying to kill the Marines himself, Now just coming out of a battle for their lives on Marine made a drastic decision born out of hatred and adrenaline, he must serve his sentence now for the murder he committed."

I don't remember anyone calling the man the marine murdered 'innocent'. And regardless of the circumstances, the marine had no moral, ethical or legal justification for killing an injured, unarmed prisoner of war in cold blood. Hence why the murderer has bin convicted.

"The Woolwich pair sat in a car with their weapons ready malice aforethought, waited for an unarmed soldier to walk down a suburban street in a reasonably peaceful city, then ran Trooper Rigby down and slaughtered him in the name of their God. I personally don't think God had anything to do with what they did at all, it was hate pure and simple, you don't think it is a coincidence that all these 'Jihadists' are disaffected young men and women who live on the peripheral of society do you ? They are willing pawns so let them be sacrificed as such...|"

Where do you think that hatred comes from? And the hatred that compels individuals to murder innocent pensioners, attack brown people and burn down mosques?

The Woolwich killers believed themselves to be 'soldiers' fighting for a cause. Much the same as 'our brave lads' fighting 'for Queen and Country'. Personally, I don't see much, if any, difference. All complicit in hatred and violence towards their fellow man. Sickening, the lot of it.

No. Stop trying to put words in my mouth.

Too difficult a question for you to answer?

They can't kill again if they're dead.

They also can't be rehabilitated. I know people who have served time for murder. People who are now very active and valuable members of society. I can help you meet some if you like, and you can have this discussion with them directly. You never know, you might learn summat that'll help you change your mind.

Exactly.

All sending "our brave lads" over is a) get them sent back home with bits blown off, and b) annoy whoever we sent them to in the first place.

If I was a bloke living in [insert far away place here] and the only experience of the west I had was when they blew most of my village up, I wouldn't exactly be left with warm feelings about them!

It's a pointless statement without context.

And when you put it in context, the big list of things that "you can't kill if you're", it's a worthless statement.

That's a good point you know. Although I'm not sure; what if you were holding a weapon capable of inflicting death in spite of being ensconced in strawberry jelly?

it seems i was wrong, you can argue with a true statement.
but lets put it another way.
Of 100% of convicted murderers who received the death penalty, 100% never re-offended.
