My ten pence.... I've never found the good people of retrobike anything but friendly. I've been the new face at a few meets and rides and have always been made to feel welcome.
My knowledge of bikes has always been restricted to what I wanted but couldn't afford (and in most cases still cant!) when I was 15. I stopped riding at 16 so retro is all I've ever really known.
Even though I'm an engineer, my bike maintenance skills are shite but I've never felt that there was a question I couldn't ask or that I'd be made fun of for asking.
I've made some good friends on here (and spent a bloody fortune!) and while I can understand how people may well wind each other up I just think that life is too short.

Saying that, that makster can be a right cock sometimes!!

I think there has been bullying on here, which is not nice.

There are a few on here that have changed and are coming across abusive to members, which is not cool. Picking on someone is not good , then you get others pitching in.

Language not good either, my 7 year old son was chatting to me the other day . While i was on here, i was looking at a thread and started to read out some words that were on the thread. My wife was shocked to hear him spelling out this words not good. :roll: :roll:

Im rather disappointed that that is how you feel.
I strongly disagree that I gave as good as I got (I simply defended myself on every occasion), particularly via PM. If you are trully recommending that abuse is to be tolerated via PM then I will have to hold my hands up and say fair enough.
I will forward you a PM shortly (unabusive of course!) to hopefully shed a little light and help resolve matters.

This was just something I wanted to get off my chest and I do honestly feel it was valid.

I also agree with the fact that the tone of a written message can be harder to understand or 'get' than the spoken word, but sometimes you just know, right?
I also back the view that those who send abuse, repeatedly or not, should perhaps be forced to take a short break in the naughty corner.
This is certainly not a daily occurance, and RB isnt riddle with abuse or issues, but my point still stands.

Im certainly no saint, and have on occasion realised that posts ive made could easily be misconstrued and on occasion have been rash/immature. I for one will be paying more attention to what I write from now on.

My rant is over, im just as sick of hearing about it as you lot are.

You're dissapointed? Not nearly as much as I am I'd imagine. Think of all thie time I've spent on this spat when I could've been doing something worthwhile on the site.

If you had a concern or were upset by what someone had said why not PM me or another mod in the first instance? We can't read every detail of every thread every hour of everyday to know exactly whats happening on the site. Why start this and the other threads? Why add your comment to that of others?

Unfortunatley in life you cannot have everything solved to your satisfaction. Sometimes you have to let things slide and get on with it.

If you want to PM me we can discuss it. Otherwise I consider the matter closed and suggest everyone cool their heels and move on.
