Day out in Cambridge - Any good bike shops?

blazing saddles has closed its doors.

station cycles is a nice shop but has no character or atmosphere.

basically your boned in this city.

Bike shops closing in Cambridge

Whats changed? There are literally 1000's of cyclists in the city :?

Chris' Bikes is a top little shop, he's got some proper Retro gear on display in there too including a Chopper 8)

A bit out the way but he's a friendly chatty guy :D

Takes me back....

I had a girlfriend in Cambridge in the early '90s.
I think it was the store in Mill Road (on a corner opposite a church?) that had loads of pretty CNC goodness, I bought my Race Face Turbines there along with countless other bits and pieces.

There was another one somewhere a bit out of the centre where I saw my first San Andreas (probably my first FS bike too! ) covered in clay leaning on the counter. Another memory is of all the matt black and neon Marins in the little store near Kings - which prompted me to buy a Marin as my first 'proper' bike.

Thanks for clearing that up, the names certainly ring bells :D

It seems the days of drooling over anodized treasures in glass display cases are well and truely over....
