Hi, welcome to my listing for a Vintage Dawes Lightning racing bike, roughly 30 years old.
Sizing is 59cm square (both top-tube and seat-tube). Ideal for anyone 6ft+
This bike has been in storage for the last 20 years and has been covered with vaseline which has kept it looking fresh with little rust or corrosion. As you can see from the pictures the grease has darkened over the years but nothing a little WD40 and a old tooth-brush wont sort out! The seat-post moves freely as does the headset and bottom-braket which will make this a super easy bicycle to work on in the future. This bike needs absolutely no working or money spending on it at this present time, just riding and enjoying.
The bike has no dents, dings, cracks or bends on any of the components such as brake cables, gear cables and brake pads are all in great condition. Tyres do have a few cracks in them but they hold pressure and will be fine for the near future. Replacement tyres are roughly £8 each off popular auction sites so it'll be a very cheap bike to maintain.

. Dawes square-taper chainset
. Sachs Huret 10speed (5 rear 2 front) down-tube shifters
. Weinmann brake calipers and levers - note the original gum hoods which usually perish are still present!
. Rigida wheelset on mallard hubs.
