Been having a rummage through the boxes of bits and pieces again and i've found the stem i'm going to use.
It looks very Kona Velocity from 1990 but not quite sure if it is. I like the nice simple clean lines because it has internal cable routing, has the twin bolt clamp and has a silver stem clamp so it's in. I'm not stopping there though because i was talking to one of the welders at work who's well into this Vulcan build and he's suggested an option to use silver solder on the welds on the stem and do the same on the crown on the forks to make it look fillet brazed after filing it back. He says he'll show me how to do it on some practice stems and forks first before attempting it on those on the bike.
And because i'm so unorganised with my bike parts another box had these yellow label Specialized Ground Controls and some yellow label Specialized Crossroads in it I knew i had them somewhere but could never remember where i put them lol It's a shame the Ground Controls aren't in the same condition as the Crossroads because they're still like new.
